Imnazalet Batata

This is a great beginner recipe! There is very little you can do to mess this one up. It's a beef, potato and tomato sauce recipe that can either be served with rice or eaten with bread. This was my first attempt at making this. Fortunately it was a success.

Start by chopping potato cubes (I used two potatoes--these ingredients should be enough for 6 servings). Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the cubes. Deep fry the potato cubes in vegetable oil (make sure the oil is hot before putting in the cubes!). Once the potatoes are lightly browned take them out of the oil and place aside.

Next take 1 package of ground beef (1Ib), cook over margarine, with 1/2 of an onion, and salt& pepper to taste. Once the meat is cooked, add 1 cup of water (enough to fully cover the beef) to the meat. Add 3 large tablespoons of tomato sauce and mix well! Once the sauce thickens, add about 4 cloves of minced garlic, with 1/4 cup of fresh coriander. Mix well. Finally, mix in the fried potatoes.

Serve with flat, arabic bread and enjoy:)!
